I woke up this morning with full intention to fix my iPod Classic with iTunes for Windows problem. So, I have to choice but just to reply instead, with 5000 characters allow in reply, I will need to split my reply into part again :( I want to add this to my original question under 'Edit' section, but I don't see edit my question any more (last night still available, I saw it). I think I have some more information to add to this discussion. Which version is exactly the cut off support for iPod Classic on Windows?.If there is no better solution, so what is the recommended version to use here?.Some people also claim that, just install the older version of iTunes for your iPod Classic. I don't know why?Īfter dig down some reasearch, the internet said, Apple did not say that they has stop Windows from using iPod Classic at all. After all was ready, the exact same thing happened when i connect iPod classic with iTunes, the iTunes took 5 seconds to disappear from screen without any warning. On first connect with iTunes, it seemed there was no iPod driver or what so ever, The iTunes (12.12.2.2) itself popped up a screen saying something like 'You want to download iPod Support or not'? It happened only one time so I did not remember the exact word. So, I create the dual boot on my computer to install Windows 11 just for the sake of my old good iPod Classic. After about 5 seconds, the iTunes disappear itself just like it was closed.Īt first, it happened with me in Windows 7, so I told myself, maybe Apple did end the support for the iPod Classic on newer version of iTunes (12.10.11.2), especially on Windows 7. However, upon opening iTunes, nothing freeze, just iTunes open up with blank initial start screen. It shows up in Explorer as an external drive. On Windows (which ever version), the Windows recognized iPod just fine. IPod classic works fine in Finder and Music. I had my iPod Video 5.5th generation 80GB of storage (later to be called iPod Classic). Does iPod Classic no longer works with iTunes for Windows?

If you are a cautious upgrader, I would wait for those and jump on iOS 15.7 in the meantime. Here's how to download MacOS Monterey 12.5.1.ġ. Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen.Ĥ. Click Update Now. For full details read my iOS 16 Upgrade Guide here.Īs is typical of next-generation updates, I expect early bugs to be found and the quick release of iOS 16.0.1 or iOS 16.1. IOS 16 / iPadOS 16 will be available to all compatible iPhones and iPads even after updating to iOS 15.7. You can also expect several ‘minor point’ iOS 16 updates (iOS 16.0.2, iOS 16.0.3 etc before then). This will be Apple’s first major update to iOS 16 bringing lock screen customizations, support for Matter accessories, ‘Cleaning Energy Charging’, a battery percentage indicator for the status bar, a new screenshot UI and more. I have seen no further reports of problems with the update, and I would advise all patient iPhone and iPad owners to make iOS 15.7 / iPadOS 15.7 their base for the next few weeks until iOS 16 becomes more stable.Īs a general rule, I would target iOS 16.1. I will publish my final verdict here in one week.Ġ9/20: Final Verdict - one week on, iOS 15.7 continues to look like a safe haven for users looking to avoid the wide array of bugs in iOS 16. Note: hesitant upgraders can bookmark this guide because it will be updated with any relevant flaws or features I find. Yes, some users have faced update and app update issues, but this is a small minority, and historically such errors have been server-side bugs Apple can fix remotely. IOS 15.7 / iPadOS 15.7 are important security updates, particularly for iPhones and iPads not supported by iOS 16. iOS 16 contains the same fixes but it does not support the iPhone SE (first gen), iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus and iPod touch. IOS 15.7 also fixes two additional vulnerabilities in Kernel, two in WebKit (the engine behind Safari) and flaws in Contacts, Maps, MediaLibrary and Shortcuts. This vulnerability is in the iOS Kernel, potentially allowing an attacker to execute malicious code on iPhones and iPads. According to Apple’s official security page, iOS 15.7 patches 11 vulnerabilities, the most serious of which is CVE-2022-32917. This is an understatement, as the update's unprecedented release date already implied.
